As an aspiring writer, I HAD always received a rather eclectic array of advice concerning my future, especially in the months leading up to my college graduation. None, however, was as concerning as that from my trusted academic advisor who suggested I “move to a big city and wait tables” after receiving my degree. Though somewhat disheartened, I thought back to first grade when I’d composed short stories about evil candy canes and uncovering a stash of my parents’ adult toys in an attempt to convince myself that I do, in fact, have an affinity for words and images and stories. And despite the fact that my aptitude test recommended I pursue a career as a space scientist, cupcake designer, or private investigator, I fell in love with the variety and psychology of advertising. the rest, as they famously say, is history.
Monday through Friday you can find me knee-deep in the creative flow as full-time and freelance copywriter. On weekends, check the front row at an indie rock show, tower grove park, or my favorite local bars where I frequently sip mezcal margs.
(Oh, and that stunning, three-legged lass is my heart & soul, Zoey.)
